The 167-hour gap.
I'm a healthcare worker. I know what it's like to carry everyone else's weight and have nowhere to put your own.
Therapy changed my life. But one hour a week wasn't enough. Between sessions, I'd spiral — overthinking, catastrophizing, feeling alone with it all. My therapist was brilliant, but she couldn't be there at 2am when the thoughts started.
I started writing down what I'd tell her. Processing out loud, even if no one was listening. And I thought: what if something could actually respond? Something that knew me, knew my patterns, and could help me catch the spiral before it got too far?
That's how Spiral was born. Not as a replacement for therapy — nothing replaces that relationship. But as a companion for the 167 hours in between. A bridge across the gap.
Built for the people who care for everyone else.
Healthcare workers face unique mental health challenges — moral injury, compassion fatigue, impossible choices, and a culture that says “you should be strong enough to handle this.”
Nurses. Doctors. EMTs. Social workers. People who spend their entire professional lives caring for others — and are often the last to ask for help themselves.
We're starting here because we know this world. And because these are the people who need it most.
Make quality mental health support accessible between therapy sessions. Start with healthcare workers. Then expand to everyone who needs it.
